Week 35

- the baby is a size of: a coconut!

- she measures about 18 inches long and weighs about 5 lbs!

- we had our tenth and eleventh prenatal appointment and, again, everything looked great.  We'll now start going every week.

- we're getting so close to her due date - it's unreal to think that she could be here in less than a month.  but we're excited and ready to meet her.  

 - The nursery is done except for a few pictures that need to be hung on the wall.

**UPDATE:  We took these pictures on Sunday.  I wrote the post on Monday.  June was here on Tuesday.  It's been a wonderful and life changing week.  :)  We're so happy she's here and healthy.  

Week 31

- the baby is a size of: a pineapple!

- she measures about 16 inches long and weighs about 3 1/2 lbs!

- when she's not rolling around or punching me in the ribs, she's hiccuping.  All day long.

- this babe is quickly running out of room.  Bill thinks she's going to come before the full 40 weeks.  We'll just have to see...

- we had our eighth and ninth prenatal appointment (we're going every two weeks now).  Everything is progressing great.  

- the nursery is painted and furnished.  All that's left to do is decorate!  And figuring out where to put all of June's new stuff.  

This little girl is loved so much already.  We can't wait for her to get here.  (But really, we need all the time she'll give us to get ready for her!)

Week 27

- the baby is a size of: an eggplant!

- she measures about 14 inches long and weighs almost 2 1/2 pounds!

- we are at the end of the second trimester!  the third trimester starts on Wednesday and we'll start going to the prenatal appointments every two weeks now.  

- she continues to move around like crazy - rolling and kicking all the time.    

- we had our seventh prenatal appointment and we were happy to hear that everything still looked normal.

- as you can see, we've started getting her bedroom ready.  She finally has a crib, dresser, night stand, and quilt.  We can't wait to start decorating.

Week 23

- the baby is a size of: a grapefruit!

- she measures about 12 inches long and weighs 1 lb. 6 oz!

- we finally felt her kick!  and she's been kicking...and punching...and tumbling like crazy ever since.

- baby girl has been making straight A's - all the tests we've taken have come back normal!

- we had our sixth prenatal appointment and had another ultrasound.  this time we were hoping to get a good view of her face since she was so reluctant to show it last month.  She was, again, facing my back, but she was moving around so much that after some waiting we were able to get a profile pic and finally caught a few shots of that pretty face:

she looks just like her dad!

- and for the nursery update: the painting has been completed and we're ready to start furniture shopping!

Week 19

We're just about halfway through! (Actually, as I type this we are exactly at the halfway mark - 20 weeks).  
- the baby is the size of: a banana!
- I've finally popped!  And I feel like the belly's grown so much even since these photos were taken.
- the baby has grown A LOT (have I said that before?) too.  she's now about 6 inches and 11 ounces.
- we had our fifth prenatal appointment and baby girl passed all her exams with flying colors!  they did a complete anatomical screening and all her body parts were there and lookin' good.  *whew!*   The only thing we weren't able to see was her face because she stubbornly refused to turn around.  But we're hoping that we'll get to see that face at our next appointment in 4 weeks.
- and as you can see we've (err...Bill has) started painting the nursery.

Week 15

It's been a busy month!  I really didn't intend to wait this long between posts, but both Bill and I were hit with food poisoning two weekends ago and we were out of town last weekend.  But I promise this is a good one.
- the baby is the size of: a navel orange!
- I am two weeks into the second trimester and feeling pretty great.  no more queaziness.  I'm more tired than I was before the pregnancy, but nowhere near as tired as I was between weeks 6 & 9.
- as you can see I haven't really "popped" yet, but I feel like my belly is maxing out the space it originally had.  I don't feel like there's anywhere else for it to go but out at this point.
- the baby has grown A LOT.  it's now about 4 inches and 2 1/2 ounces.
- we had both our third and fourth appointments.  at the third appointment with the doctor, we heard the heartbeat and a new noise: the baby's little kicks!  it was exciting to know that the little one is in there moving around, especially because I haven't been able to feel anything yet.
- it was at the fourth appointment on Friday (15 weeks) that we had a nice surprise.  because I was asking a lot of questions during the appointment, the doctor and I got into a long conversation and both of us forgot about listening to the heartbeat.  so, as I was checking out, a nurse came to get me so that they could check the heartbeat and they pulled me into the ultrasound room.  so, instead of just listening to the heartbeat, I actually got to see the baby on a 3D ultrasound!  So much has changed from that little smudge we saw at week 7!

there it is! a head with an eye and two little arms and two little legs!  and it was moving it's tiny arms around.  it was the most incredible thing i've ever seen.  but because I was not scheduled to have an ultrasound and we had our last appointment so close to this one, I had told Bill it was not worth coming to this one.  So, I felt TERRIBLE when I was in there getting to see this without him, especially when she showed me this:

so, surprise, it looks like we're having a girl!  I commented to the ultrasound tech that maybe you couldn't tell for sure this early, but she (almost offended) said she was sure of it. of course I'm ECSTATIC (we both are) about having a girl, and we'll definitely know really truly for sure in four weeks at our 19 week appointment.  

- i was so certain it was a boy, and i was so wrong.  

Week 11

- the baby is the size of a: lime!
- we had our second appointment with the doctor last week.  he said everything was looking good.  we also got to hear the heartbeat again (166 bmp).  alright!
- not much has changed in three weeks (on the outside), but the baby has grown a lot.
- i've been feeling better and better - my energy is up (which is great because I need the extra energy to get through the last two weeks of tax season!).
- Bill is also taking great care of me (and the baby) by having a delicious dinner ready for me every night when I come home and making sure i relax for the few hours i'm not at work.
- other than that, it hasn't been very eventful.  we have been speculating on whether it will be a girl or a boy, and for some reason i'm certain it's a boy.  i guess we'll see in 8 weeks!
